VZD’s was established in April of 1976.  The building was originally occupied by Veazey Drug #21, a locally owned chain of Drug Store and Fountain shops that operated until the late 1950’s.  In 1981, a fire burned the roof and VZD’s closed for repairs.  In the past twenty years, VZD’s has hosted the best in national bands including The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bo Didley, Koko Taylor, Poi Dog Pondering, Michelle Shocked, the Dixie Chicks and many more.
